Spot rubber stays firm

Spot rubber prices finished unchanged on Saturday. The weekend session was comparatively inactive as active trading was lacking on either side to set the trend. Most of them seemed to be cautious since the domestic futures ruled weak on the National Multi Commodity Exchange. Sheet rubber closed steady at Rs 214 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi amidst scattered transactions.
Futures slip
In futures, the January series slipped to Rs 214.25 (214.93), February to Rs 221 (221.72), March to Rs 225.94 (226.70) and April to Rs 232.62 (233.63) a kg for RSS 4 on the NMCE.
Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 214 (214); RSS-5: 203.50 (203.50); ungraded: 200 (200); ISNR 20: 211 (211) and latex 60 per cent: 146 (146).
