Spot rubber rules steady

Spot rubber closed unchanged on Tuesday. Declines in domestic futures kept the market under pressure but the prices managed to sustain at current levels on supply concerns.

Sheet rubber finished flat at Rs 170.50 a kg amidst scattered transactions.

Futures slip

RSS 4 slipped with the June futures dropping to Rs 172.25 (172.65), July to Rs 167.32 (168.36), August to Rs 162.20 (163.30) and September to Rs 157.45 (158.72) a kg on the National Multi Commodity Exchange. The June futures improved to ¥358/Rs 182.59 (¥355), July to ¥343.5 (¥338.3), August to ¥322.9 (¥319.2), September to ¥302 (¥297.6), October to ¥284 (¥279.8) and November to ¥278.2 (274.8) a kg for RSS 3 during the day session on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. RSS 3 (spot) finished marginally higher at Rs 165.66 (165.32) a kg at Bangkok.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 170.50 (170.50); RSS-5: 168.50 (168.50); ungraded: 168 (167); ISNR 20: 151.50 (151.50) and latex 60 per cent: 120 (120).
