Kottayam, April 10
Physical rubber prices improved on Saturday. The weekend session ended firm on covering purchases on fears prices could increase further next week. Sheet rubber improved to Rs 160.50 from Rs 160 a kg, while the market made all-round gains amidst comparatively low volumes.
Futures steady
The April futures closed at Rs 160.15 (160.36), May at Rs 164.95 (165), June at Rs 167.18 (167.31) and July at Rs 165.87 (166.02) a kg for RSS 4 on National Multi Commodity Exchange.
Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 160.50 (160); RSS-5: 158 (157.75); ungraded: 157 (156.50); ISNR 20: 157.50 (157) and latex 60 per cent: 101 (101).
