Spot rubber prices improve
Kottayam, March 6
Spot rubber continued to explore further highs on Saturday. The session witnessed fresh buying and short covering on expectations of a better market during the week ahead. Sheet rubber improved to Rs 144 from Rs 143.50 a kg while the market made all-round gains amidst comparatively dull volumes.
Futures gain
The rubber futures managed to finish in green on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE). The March contract closed at Rs 143.50 (143.39), April at Rs 148.38 (148.15), May at Rs 151.49 (151.15) and June at Rs 154.58 (153.99) a kg for RSS 4.
Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 144.50 (144); RSS-5: 142.50 (141.50); ungraded: 140.50 (140); ISNR 20: 141 (140) and latex 60 per cent: 93 (92).
